Highway Robbery

The scene for today's event is Highway 34, known to LNKolnites as "O" street. The time is approximately 11:00 hours. The restaurant is Village Inn. The order is Bacon and Eggs, scrambled, pancakes, boysenberry syrup. The magazine is The Week, torn in half to facilitate sharing.

The restaurant was robbed while Misty and I gorged. We were in a corner booth, unable to see or hear the action at the register. We didn't know something had happened until we went to pay our bill at roughly 11:20 and noticed multiple police officers milling about in the foyer. A masked man had entered 20 minutes earlier and asked for change. When the register was opened, he reached across the counter and grabbed the 20's, then took off out the door. A strange robbery method, and I'm sure the employee knew something was up immediately since it's not cold enough outside to warrant a face covering. Action in the sleepy town of LNK, and I was on the scene, and missed it.

Oh well. Far less exciting than finding "freshly dead fellas" and then making the news.

There are so many things I could say here, such as arguments for always watching your exits and keeping tabs on things out of place. I might even use it to champion lawful concealed carry, though in my opinion lethal force wouldn't be appropriate in this situation. I could say these things, but then I'd just sound like a whackjob.

But oh man, imagine the ass kicking two bald guys could've delivered had we been in the right place.
