Hillary vs. The Xbox

I recommend you read this well-written piece in the LA Times opinion section about video game violence. It's a welcome counter-argument to the recent fluff coming from attention-seeky Senator H. Clinton and our favorite attorney Jack Thompson. Thanks for the link, morose.

EDIT: Maddox has something to say about the Hot Coffee mod. Hilarious, as usual from him.

Ah, when spam software doesn't parse the templates correctly...

The HTML was simply "{BODYHTML}", and the attached JPEG was blank. Somebody forgot to use "preview" before sending. And I was really looking forward to that 2-4 character random string with the long date format appended :(

Ironically, because the message was so badly formed, it managed to sneak through my hardened spam filters.

Deer in headlights

03:45. The quiet hour when deer freely roam NW 48th street, normally an avenue busy enough to repel deer for hundreds, if not thousands of decimeters around. Working at oddball hours is murder on sleeping habits, but sure provides for interesting experiences. Sure, it would have been more interesting if I would have hit the deer or its mate (or both!), but dealing with insurance companies is always such a drag. I really do need to acquire a smaller digital camera so that I can tote it all times, as capturing such moments as this with pictures adds what my skill with words can not. Or, since Nextel now has camera-phones, perhaps I should strike a happy medium and go back to my combination device days.
