Why have a configuration setting that does nothing? Delta, you tease.
Oppose HTML mail! (Note that I only agree with some of the arguments presented)
A. Because it's contrary to the direction we normally read in.
Q. Why is top-posting so bad, then?
Intelligent commentary on President Bush's abysmal approval rating; required reading for those of all political leanings, but especially party-line Republicans.
The disappointing reality is when it comes time to vote again, we'll have the bandwagon voting we always do. There are millions of people disappointed in Bush, but will vote Republican again without analyzing the new candidate. This is not to say that those who vote for a Republican presidential candidate are automatically dolts, but that far too many people -- a politically staggering number of people -- will vote their party-line again, without even considering what that thoughtless move yielded the last two times.
This country needs viable "third-party" candidates desperately. Unfortunately, we already have those people and they're running for office, it's the voters who aren't recognizing them. I know people who cast their vote "against" a candidate the last two rounds. They didn't vote "for" one person, they voted for the opposing Republican/Democrat in hopes that the person they disliked didn't make it into office. This is a horrible stance! If everyone considered third-party candidates and actually voted for the person they thought would make the best leader, the two-party system would automagically fall (not likely in one election, but with time. You have to start the snowball rolling at some point). By casting a "negative vote", you're only perpetuating the "lesser of two evils" situation we're often stuck in.
