A NY state senator wants to fine you $100 for using a music player or PDA while crossing the road. No, this is not a chicken joke.

Senator Kruger, the Sony Walkman was introduced in 1979. Traffic in New York has been dangerous for decades. MP3 players and Blackberries do not create a new problem that you need to solve. It is not the State's responsibility to protect people from themselves. If you want to save lives in that manner, try outlawing smoking. Good luck.
